Individuals selected to be Break Away Programs Interns have two areas of focus: Facilitation & Training and Conference Preparation. This includes serving as a facilitator during our national conferences, the Alternative Break Citizenship schools (ABCs). In addition to gaining valuable facilitation experience, interns have the unique opportunity to assist in conference development: building partnerships with local community organizations, developing curriculum and logistics, practicing event planning and management, and serving as peer support for student leaders at the ABCs. Alternative break experience is required for all applicants. Prior attendance at the ABCs is highly preferred.
The internship is May - August during which time interns will be based in Atlanta, GA and work at Break Away's National Office.
