Each summer, Break Away selects current students and/or recent graduates to join and support our small staff in the preparation and execution of our Alternative Break Citizenship schools (ABCs) and other programming efforts. Individuals selected to be Break Away Interns will have the opportunity to work on multiple projects, such as building curriculum, event planning and management, content creation, and serving as peer support for student leaders at the ABCs.

Summer 2022’s virtual internship has flexible start dates, with a May-August date range. If you’re interested—or know someone who may be—in developing facilitation and leadership skills, supporting lifelong justice-centered community engagement, and strengthening the national alternative break Movement, you (or that incredible individual you know) can apply now through January 31st. Selections will be made by the end of February.
Community engagement/service-learning experience is highly preferred for all applicants.
